The only consolation in this whole affair is that I will not need to speak to anyone at Sky customer services again!!
I hope that others can learn from this related experience and save wasting their time going round in circles with Sky customer services. I wish they would tell their line one operatives to inform their customers that this is a known issue and Sky have withdrawn the only solution instead of wasting their time with spurious troubleshooting!
You can no longer create a new email account via Sky as we no longer offer this service. If you're using an older version of an app, you'll need to update to the latest software version and then follow the steps below. You can still sign in to your emails via sky. I successfully added other email domains such as outlook. The issue only occurs if you will use yahoo.
It is clearly shown that the issue is with the email domain. I get an error "Something went wrong" when I tried to add a Yahoo account. It also shows me an option to troubleshoot the issue by collecting logs. Can you confirm if you received the same screen prompt? Squidinc ,. Having set up my domain POP account with reg and using outlook express along with my blackberry with SKY as my broadband provider it was all going tickety-boo.
Then as we all know SKY switched their servers over without telling anyone obviously never having heard of customer service and we couldn't send email from our outlook accounts - nice. So we all changed our outging server to smtp. A week later and it's on lock down again. Now I for one hate being at the mercy of SKY and have found a way around it. I contacted my email provider at They are blocking anyone with a POP account due to 'excessive traffic'.
I have phoned SKY who continue to say as they have done for nearly 2 wks now "Our engineers know there are problems and are working on it yada yada yada yawn yawn yawn I'm not sure but I think this only works if your POP account runs through reg reg. Who needs SKY servers for email anyway when it's that rubbish! It means you don't need outlook anymore and the interface is very similar to outlook anyway so what's stopping you?

Replies 3 Views 2K. Sep 27, andrewl. The message is probably coming from your anti-virus Avast? You don't need it to do this, and you'll be just as safe if you turn off mail scanning in Avast, that's the Mail Shield.
Right-click on the account name in the folder pane and select Properties. Remove any unsent messages from the outbox below the account folders in the folder pane , then close down Windows Live Mail and wait a few minutes while the program does its housekeeping and stores the new security settings. Then re-launch the program, compose a new test message with a unique subject and send it to yourself.
